Descendent al unui român lânga Barack Obama

Unii il numesc „Pitbull”, dupa rasa canina extrem de agresiva, altii ii spun „Rhambo” – un amestec intre numele sau, Rahm, si eroul de film Rambo. Este vorba de viitorul sef de cabinet al presedintelui-ales al SUA, Barack Obama. Ralph Emanuel este un evreu de 49 de ani, cu origini tocmai in Romania, in nordul Moldovei. Bunicul din partea mamei a emigrat in America la inceputul secolului 20, pe cand avea doar 10 ani.

    Itb4s too bad Europeana hasnb4t published any info on their ncehtincal solution for their serach application. Or maybe they have?Anyway one thing that struck me in the press release was the talk about the database being overloaded. Considering the content was object metadata and thumbnails (with a reffering URL for complete object presentations at their source) the search application should have been centered around a freetext index with URL:s to thumbnails on a file-server and not really touch the database server at all i.e. all queries going towards the index and none to the database.A freetextindex (Apache/Lucene) should be able to be run on an Amazon server haven tried so I donb4t know for sure.
